The recently completed exhibit, “New School of Paris Through Its Pioneering Women (1945-1964)” at Perrotin Gallery New York has been a monumental success, shedding light on the transformative contributions of female artists in post-war Paris. The exhibit completed its run on May 23rd, having opened its doors to the public on April 13th, and having featured works from notable women who played crucial roles in shaping modern art during a pivotal era.

The exhibition received widespread acclaim for its curation and the depth of its historical context, highlighting the innovative techniques and bold perspectives these women brought to the art world. Critics and visitors alike praised the exhibit for its comprehensive exploration of the artists’ influence on contemporary art movements, solidifying their rightful place in art history despite having in the past failed to be deservedly recognized for their lasting and impactful contributions.

In conjunction with the exhibit, a 52-minute documentary was produced by Les Quai Films exclusively to be screened by visitors. The documentary is now being generously released to the general public, allowing a broader audience to appreciate the significance of these artists’ contributions and can be viewed by clicking the image below.

The Perrotin Museum also celebrated Marie Raymond directly through a dedicated instagram post, honoring her legacy and her contributions to the New School of Paris.

The post, which can be viewed by clicking here, celebrates Marie Raymond as “one of the female visionaries at the forefront of the New School of Paris movement, but who are notably missing from history”, reinforcing the exhibit’s importance in the ongoing recognition of women’s roles in art history.

The Marie Raymond Archive is proud to share this momentous occasion with our community and encourages everyone to explore the documentary and celebrate the extraordinary achievements of these pioneering women artists.

We also extend our deepest appreciation to curator Thomas Schlesser, the Perrotin Gallery, and all those who participated in making this exhibit a reality. We congratulate everyone involved on a tremendously successful exhibit, and we look forward to future endeavors that continue to honor the legacy of these extraordinary women artists.
