Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, Schiedam, Netherlands

A first for the Netherlands and for the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam — the work of the entire Klein family, brought together for the very first time.

The family comprises Yves Klein (1928–1962), his parents Fred Klein (1898–1990) and Marie Raymond (1908–1988), and his wife Rotraut Uecker (b. 1938). While Yves Klein is celebrated worldwide for his emblematic monochromes, his relatives were themselves accomplished artists, drawn to colour and the cosmos.

The exhibition traces the artistic dialogue within the family, alongside the Kleins’ enduring ties to the Netherlands — and to the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam in particular, which holds several works by Fred Klein in its collection.
