In a celebration of the rich horticultural and plant heritage of the Collois region, a new garden has emerged as a true work of art spanning 1,440 square meters. This masterpiece includes a green space, an area adorned with fruit trees, a pergola-covered relaxation area, a vegetable garden, and a composting area. More than just a garden, this space is a reflection of the living environment cherished by the people of Colloise and a testament to the region’s commitment to nature and biodiversity. The garden is designed not only to beautify the surroundings but also to serve as a sanctuary for pollinating insects, enhancing the urban ecosystem.

The new enclosed landscaped garden is set to be a refreshing oasis in the heart of the community, offering a respite from urban life while promoting biodiversity. By providing a welcoming habitat for pollinators, the garden plays a crucial role in supporting local ecosystems. Additionally, the presence of fruit trees and vegetable gardens will not only add to the beauty of the space but also provide a sustainable source of fresh produce for the community. This initiative reflects a growing trend towards sustainable urban planning and a commitment to creating green spaces that benefit both people and the environment.

The opening of the Jardin des Senteurs was made even more special by the attendance of Marie Raymond’s family. Marie Raymond’s only grandson, Yves Amu Klein, was present, along with Anna Klein, and their daughter Amelie Klein, Marie Raymond’s great-granddaughter. Their presence added a deeply personal touch to the event, underscoring the significance of the garden as a tribute to Marie Raymond’s life and work.

Check in for an upcoming blog post, which will include an interview taken by the local village publication “Le Petit Collois,” offering insights into the family’s thoughts on the garden and Marie Raymond’s legacy.

The project has been welcomed by the local community and environmental organizations, including the League for the Protection of Birds. It is seen as a significant step towards creating a more sustainable and environmentally conscious living environment.

The garden’s design and purpose align with the broader goals of promoting biodiversity in urban spaces and improving the overall quality of life for residents. As the garden continues to grow and flourish, it will stand as a symbol of the region’s commitment to preserving its natural heritage for generations to come.
